Wonderful idea. But the theologian in me would like to suggest you turn the two foci around. Let Juneteenth be like Rosh Hashanah-the beginning of a new time when all Americans are free. This would center the Black experience of Juneteenth--a day of rejoicing and new life for Black Americans and expand that the joy for all of us.Then the "days of awe" could be for critical reflection of where we have come and where we e failed and where we want to go and the Fourth of July could be the day of commitment, re commitment to our collective ideals and vows.
