I have to respectfully disagree with the comment that “this is not what people voted for.” I believe they did. The majority of white voters cast a vote for Trump every time he’s been on the ballot.
It feels more important than ever right now to speak plainly to one another of what seems patently obvious to the rest of the country and most of the world -- that the currently socio-dominant population attained its position through both visible violence and policy violence -- and that it would appear to prefer to continue those forms of violence than share resources equitably with the rest of the country
Moreover, if that population is determined to maintain that hierarchy literally at all costs -- that the country is ay risk, but so is that population *and* the status it fights to maintain, regardless of the levels of denial it continues to employ to pretend otherwise
... and we know all that because history has already told us so, several times
